If you plan on attending Friday night services for the first time or just want to get re-acquainted, we will pair you up with a member of Tze'irim 20s & 30s. He or she will meet you before services, guide you through BJ's one-of-a-kind experience, and accompany you to Shabbat dinner at a local restaurant (if being organized). To request a "Service Match," email bjservicematch@yahoo.com and include (1) the date you plan to attend, (2) your contact information, and (3) a short description about yourself.

How moving was your first BJ experience? Be a part of someone else's first experience by accompanying a newcomer to services. Sign-up by emailing bjservicematch@yahoo.com with the subject heading "SM Host". You will be placed on an email list which is notified when newcomers request a Service Match. There is no obligation to host; opportunities are voluntary and ongoing.

B'nai Jeshurun is an egalitarian synagogue on the heart of the Upper West Side. During the Fall, Winter and Sring, BJ has two Kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday nights at 6:00pm and at 7:15pm at the synagogue at 88th St. between Broadway and West End Avenue. During the summer, there is one Friday night service at 7:00 pm. These services are filled with song and dance and draw several hundred people each Friday night. BJ also has services on Saturday morning at 9:30am at the BJ in the summer, and at SPSA Church at 86th St. and West End Avenue, during the rest of the year.
